None of the current crop of hypercars, not the 918, not the P1, not the Ferrari the Ferrari, have as good a power-to-weight ratio as the 1999 TVR Cerbera Speed 12. The most powerful and lightest (the Ferrari Ferrari) misses out by over 100bhp/ton. I want TVR back :(

All that hybridy stuff is heavy!

They're trying. I'll give them credit for trying to support the old cars first:

It's a shame that we're short on supercar manufacturers that are yob enough to name their companies "Trevor" with letters dropped, I'll tell you that.

Wasn't the Speed 12 too scarily fast to actually make? I recall it was almost undriveable by anyone who wanted to continue in this world.

The Speed 12 was NUTS.

Just saw that on their website, hopefully new cars will be out in the next two years.

Yep :) they made one road car and a dozen or so GT racers...

If ever I get a TVR I'll replace at least one of the badges with one that says 'Trevor'...

Always loved how batshit crazy that car was.

Hell yes :) last I heard there was just a website. That's something that's not vapourware :)

Nearly 400kg heavy compared to the Speed 12. And there's no carbon in it as far as I can tell...

I'd still prefer TVR to have produced the Typhon.

Apparently Peter Wheeler shat his pants driving it. Go figure.

AFAIK two road cars were built, not just one.

That sounds about right, but that just makes the 1 or 2 they made even more awesome.

Yeah, but they got all of the various distributors and specialists making specific parts for old TRVs to sell their wares in one spot and are in fact moving merchandise. That means that there's at least some form of business in operation still, and to start with making life easier for enthusiasts makes it seem to me that the new owner is in it for the right reasons and the potential is there. Look at how many laws can be gotten around by making the customer fit the engine separately. Caterham and Ariel get their cars to market with meager budgets, so it can be done.

Good point, me too. If anything because the name is so damn cool :) plus, the spec was insane...

It also had better chances of competing with Ferrari and Porsche.
